Colour Combo Stampin’ Up! Blog Hop

March 2021

Well hello my Crafting Friends! I actually managed to get my act together and get done with the blog card and post on time this month! lol One of my worst traits is that I have terrible time management skills. It’s more like I lack the ability to tell my family to leave me alone so I can work!

Last month, I received my final order for Sale-A-Bration. To make my minimum, I had ordered the Hydrangea Haven bundle. Once I saw the color combo for this month, I had to use the hydrangeas for this blog. When we lived in Germany, I have several hydrangea plants and they were my absolute favorites. I noticed over time, dependent on the soil depletion, they turned more of a pinkish color. I added nutrients and they’d go back to blueish purple.(Yes, I am aware that I am not an experienced gardener, I just like pretty things on my front step. haha) The Petal Pink reminded me of that, so it just felt like the perfect color combination for this set.

I loved the Mango Melody as the card base, giving a sunshine feel for the background. I used Just Jade and Soft Sea Foam for the stem and leaves, but tried to keep the three main colors the focal point. Basic White card stock is used for the label, flower inserts, the main stamped flower done with Terracotta Tile and Petal Pink ink, and the inside panel. I used the Hammered Metal 3D embossing folder to give some texture to the base of the card. Next, I used the dies to make background flowers in both the Terracotta Tile and Petal Pink. I used the dies on the stamped flower image as well. I used the Pick a Tool to pop the petals on the die cut flowers then glued them down with Mono Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

I wanted to give some flavor to the card, so I die cut out the flower banner on Basic White and on the card front, placing the Basic White flowers in the card base and gluing them to the inside of the card. I colored the Pearl Basic Jewels with the Dark Mango Melody Stampin’ Blends Marker, and added some Early Espresso Faux Suede ribbon with the Antiqued Corners and Slides elements. I punched out the sentiment with the Timeless Label punch and used dimensionals to make it stand out.

I have to say, this card came out way better than I thought it would and I absolutely love this bundle. And those slides… they really add so much class to the entire project. I am going to be getting more of them on my next order for sure!

I hope you enjoy the rest of this month’s blog projects and I look forward to seeing you again next time!

Until then, Happy Crafting!
