Stamping With Friends Blog Hop

March 2021

Hello Crafting Friends! I am so glad to see y’all again. I hope that the weather where you are is better than it has been here. We are still dealing with the cold and now it’s raining season. It makes for good crafting weather though!

For this month’s National Day, I picked Shoe the World day, March 15th. I love the Dressed to Impress stamp set, and the die set that goes with it, All Dressed Up, and I knew it would make a fun 3D project.

This frame is from Dollar Tree and only cost me $1. I used the Peony Garden DSP for the background. I took the left over DSP, turned it over, and cut out a strip with the strip die from the set. To give it a more frilly look, I added some Scalloped Lace Trim to the top and bottom of the strip, using Tear &Tape Adhesive strips and stuck it on with Dimensionals. Then, I used the Blending Brushes to add color to the Melon Mambo ink to some Basic White card stock, I stamped over the area I had blended with Gray Granite and used the dies to cut out the shoes and flowers with the dies. For the flower stems, I used the Just Jade Stampin’ Write Marker to make it stand out. I used the label die and cut out the sentiment. I stamped the sentiment with Just Jade In Color. I added the Pearl Basic Jewels on the ends and on 2 of the flowers, just for some extra pizzazz. I adhered the DSP using dimensionals so that it stuck up a little and it felt a little more 3D. I taped on shoe down on each set, and the second I popped up with a dimensional. Finally, I die cut one of the large butterflies from the Butterfly Bijou DSP on special right now. I added it with a pop up wabbler.

I truly fell in love with this project. The best part is that it really didn’t take very long to do it. Honestly, writing my blog took longer than making the shadow box project.

I hope you enjoyed this and will hop over to our next blogger’s post!
